Found Objects 1

I've long been fascinated with "found object" jewellery - pieces made from unusual materials and things you wouldn't normally expect to see worn. I've never been much good at spotting ways to use unusual stuff myself, but I feel like I've actually gotten good enough to start trying to throw weird things into my repertoire without outright copying the people who came up with the ideas in the first place.

The awesome ~Scoop51 and ~porkshanks are a couple of great dA examples of these clever "found object" artisans, but all the clever people on the Craftster forum deserve a [link] too.

The random stuff on this necklace was "found" in a couple of broken wristwatches and my long-dead MiniDisc player (yeah, I know, good thing I don't play the stock market eh?). The "flower" things are actually solanoids from the motors in the MD player, and the dangly copper things either side came from the wristwatches. The rest of it is just various gauges of brass jewellery wire and Swarovski crystal.

Oh, and I got a Coiling Gizmo for Christmas and it's ridiculously fun, so expect lots of coils in stuff.
